Our teachers make sincere efforts to know their students well and support, encourage and offer good advice to them, whenever they need.
Students, who appreciate the support they are offered, are better positioned to respond to the demands of the school. The mutual respect apparent in Chinmaya Vidyalaya's class rooms and the willingness of its teachers and students to work together are features lauded by parents and the society, at large. We help each student reach his or her full potential.
We pride ourselves on the excellent academic results of our school, yet avoid being a "mark factory". Instead, we aim to promote the joy of learning for its own sake, achieved through stimulating lessons, delivered by teachers of high caliber.
We are extremely happy at our students' performance which is a real credit to their hard work and commitment. Students and teachers feel very proud of what they have achieved.
A vast majority of our students passing out in higher secondary exam get admissions in professional institutions, by merit. About 90% of our students are eligible for admission in medicine and engineering streams of their first or second choice, again by merit alone.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD
The school is accredited with the International School Award (ISA) by the British Council for the period 2013 - 2016.
It is no longer enough just to know the stuff. In this competitive world, particularly in the 21st century, students should be trained in skills like team work, social responsibility, planning, critical thinking, reasoning and others.
We are second to none in providing opportunities for our students to master these skills by assigning them carefully planned projects.
In the year, 2012-13, we applied for the prestigious International School Award and secured this esteemed award from the British Council after strenuous efforts put forth by the students and the faculty members.
The International School Award is an accreditation scheme for curriculum-based international projects in schools. It helps schools introduce a global dimension in the learning experience. As a part of this, each class was assigned a project,
- I - National Animals of different countries
- II - National flags of four nations
- III - Currencies of different countries
- IV - Food habits around the world
- V - Four major religions of the world
- VI - Houses around the world
- VII - Revolutionary leaders of the World
- VIII - Organic farming
- IX - a) Monuments of Tamil Nadu and the rest of the world
- b) Tracking the traces of romanticism in English and Indian poets.
These projects were unique in the sense that they had an international touch and cross curricular links in them. Our students exchanged their findings with their counterparts in other countries like UK, USA, Australia, Sri Lanka through emails, Skype sessions and social networking.
On completion of the projects, an exhibition was organized on 4th of December 2012, giving visitors an exposure to learn and enjoy different concepts. A wide range of attractions were available to them.
This collaborative project was presented as a dossier to the British Council. We have been honoured with the International School Award for the period 2013-2016 for bringing an international dimension into our classroom.
